About Me
- Name: Shira Salamone
Once upon a time, I belonged to a left-wing egalitarian Conservative synagogue, where I was one of a number of women who wore a tallit—and one of the few members who used an Orthodox prayer book (adding the Mothers, of course). Having moved since then, I now belong to a right-wing traditional Conservative synagogue, where I’m almost always the only woman wearing a tallit—and one of the few members who adds the Mothers. I seem destined to be forever . . . on the fringe.

Sorry, about the delay--please keep going.
Just one more.
This is another of my {in)famous "hidden" posts, published in the comments so that my co-workers would have to both click and scroll to see it. I cherish the delusion that I'm still more or less "in the closet" as a blogger at the office.
Published March 9, 2010.
Two of the people who usually work in this office were not here yesterday. That's why I was posting so much during work hours. I rarely get an opportunity of this kind, since there's almost always at least one person in the office to whom my computer screen is completely visible. So don't expect to see many more posts published during office hours.
For the record, most of the posts that I publish on weekdays that are marked 10 AM, or around that time, are posts that I pre-scheduled the night before or that morning after I came home from minyan to drop off my tallit and tefillin, eat breakfast, pick up my backpack, and go to work. As I said, I'm rarely in a position to be able to publish a post while at the office.
